I completed my legal education at the University of Ottawa in 1971 and was called to the bar in Ontario in 1972. A few short years later, my wife and I moved west, and I was called to the bar here in 1977. My primary practice area is Corporate & Commercial Law. I also do some real estate, and prepare wills and other estate documents.

Between 1994 and 2015, I was an instructor at the Law Society of Alberta Bar Admission Course. I was appointed a Queen’s Counsel (now a King’s Counsel) in 2008. In the mid-90s, I was presented with the prized eagle feather by the Enoch Reserve.

I have been very active in community service. I served as chairperson and race director of the Edmonton Marathon, chairperson of the Board of the Excel Society, a governor of Grant MacEwan College, chairperson and race director for the Marathon and Race Walk events at the 2001 World Track & Field Championships, and president of the Kinsmen Club of Edmonton. In 2000, I received an Award of Excellence from Economic Development Edmonton and in 2004 I received a Star Award from the Alberta Government as the adult Volunteer of the Year.
